Welcome to the web site of John Willmott School Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA).
The PTFA was formed in January 2007 by a small group of parents and teachers, and we now have an elected body of Officers who carry out the official duties of Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. The majority, and the most important part, of the group is made up of Parents and Teachers who attend the meetings and volunteer their time and resources – as and when they can.
We are well supported by the School Staff group and we are particularly grateful for the keen support and encouragement of Mr Nimmo, Head Teacher.
The PTFA has agreed a number of aims and objectives:
1. To provide a link between Parents, Carers, Teachers and Children – which is less formal than the Parent / governors board.
2. To raise funds for specific projects for the benefit of the School and our Children.
3. To organise ‘Social or Learning Events’ which Parents, Children and Teachers can participate in together.
And very importantly .....
4. To have some fun!!
We have now held a number of events which were very successful and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. If you would like to volunteer to be part of this, or if you would just like to attend one of our meetings to see what we are doing – you will be made very welcome.
You can participate as much as you want, or whenever you want, we do appreciate how difficult it can be to make to make a regular, large time commitment, particularly when juggling home, work and family - every contribution, however much, is greatly received – we are a very friendly group and our meetings in themselves are becoming social events.
If you are not able at present to come to our meetings but would like to come to some of our organised events – please look out for details in our newsletters or on our website due for the start of the new school year.
